It does need to be told to young people so they know the truth about Cuba, China Venezuela et al and understand and appreciate how great our country is. It gives understanding to the importance of our freedoms also.
Youngest daughter and I spent a few weeks with friends in Venezuela before Chavez. Those lessons are well ingrained because of the news from those friends. Some of them made it out of Venezuela and some have “dissapeared.” My daughter was 11 when we were there in ‘96. It was a lesson she learned in her teen years hearing of what was happening to peers.
I heartily agree this is a lesson needed for all our schools. I know how it impacted that kid.
