Poland is bringing a divisive anti-abortion law into force, amid escalating EU doubt on the legality of its court system.

The law, banning all terminations except for cases of rape and incest or if the mother’s life was at risk, was to come into effect after Poland’s Constitutional Court confirmed its earlier verdict by publishing a statement of justification on Wednesday (27 January).

The original ruling, last October, prompted anti-government protests led by women’s rights activists up and down the Roman Catholic country.

Wednesday’s move saw a few thousand people hold a peaceful demonstration in Warsaw city center. […]

“It’s a step forward, firmly removing clearly eugenic abortion from Polish law,” Jerzy Kwaśniewski, the head of a government consultative body, Ordo Iuris, also said. …

How about “passes” ... “celebrates” ... “establishes popular ground-breaking human rights breakthrough”?

If Poland was not located in Europe, and my skin wasn’t tanned (P.R. here), I’d move to Poland in an instant.

What if Poland has work/skill requirements, to move there, similar to Australia?

“Take our nest eggs there and establish our own nests. This country is gone.”

Maybe so. But think of what was in Poland was just 32 years ago.

Pray for the Lord’s Mercy, and for Christian Revival in North America !

” amid escalating EU doubt on the legality of its court system.”

I would like to explain this point:

The Polish court system is still full of old Communist leftovers. Some of them known to commit judiciary crimes like sentencing innocent people on trumped up charges. The current government is trying to get rid of them. But the EU is fighting to protect them in the name of judiciary independence. Modern aberration - EU fighting for the Communist criminals rights to sit on Polish courts and accusing Polish government of illegally removing them!

For those who do not know - Judiciary crimes were one of the communist methods to keep people in line. There were no laws, people were send to jails just because somebody did not like them. Some of the prosecutors and judges performed that function. They themselves deserve to be in jail, but some of them are still around and sit even on the Polish supreme court.

Why is incest include? Incest is either rape or it is not.

Poland is still struggling with the post-communist problems. Still recovering (and will be recovering for a long time to come) from the Communist disaster!
BTW, the ruling coalition of the “United Right” is somewhat shaky, who know how long it will last. Then maybe return to “socialistic normalization?”

That’s not why the EU casts aspersions on Poland’s judiciary system. The EU is looking for an excuse to overrule the Polish government.
