I can also recommend some brands for “blending” purposes as I found them unsuitable for sippin’.
1. Eagle Rare - too bland
2. Bulliett - too saccharine.

Both are used as a foundation for some decent blends but the two together are just twice as bad.
Make 2 blend bottles, matching certain characteristics to the foundations.
Definition of blend?
Mixing together bourbons that, once tested and rejected, get mixed with similar sub-standard bourbons.

They may not taste that good but no one should throw good bourbon down the drain.
Unless you are quittin’ the sauce for good.

I’ve found Four Roses Single Barrel to be pretty decent for a less costly bourbon.

The odd thing is that I also like scotch, and love that oaky-peaty taste of Laphroaig (spelling?).

Anyway, it’s too early in the day for bourbon. At least for me. Although, as they say, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. 😀

That’s the art of blending, in’nit? Taking two or more bad tasting whiskies (or whines for that matter) and blending them into something better than any of them tasted alone, though never anything a connoisseur would enjoy.
