I think the deal is the order of ingredients goes dough, cheese, tomato and then toppings.
We called that a Sicilian pie in Jersey.
Dang, now I want some Pizza Papalis. Too bad it’s 1000 miles away.
Oddly enough, pizzerias in Chicago also cut round pies in square pieces. There is something unnatural and dorky about this that says something about the Midwestern mindset. Not sure what.
I keep my Model 29 on the right side of my Plate with the Forks on top of a Linen Napkin, not on top of my food.
It’s simple Etiquette.
"Detroit" signifies 'black'... and black means 'diverse'... and diverse means acceptance by fellow white liberal 'elites'...
"Detroit pizza" makes liberal elites feel proud, oh so proud of their great civil rights records ... (calling for police de-funding in black communities and cheering black criminal burn down businesses) Well, until members if the REAL black community said, "Are you 'elites' nuts? We need police just like the rest of Americans who don't live in gated Mansions"

Being this is Pizza Hut, I doubt if “Loaded with toppings” means what I believe it means.
If it’s anything like the old time Cloverleaf Pizza from the Detroit area, it’s the best I’ve had.
I don’t mean to brag, or anything (well, yeah, I do mean to brag), but some of the best pizza in the Detroit area was made by yours truly from 1979 to 1982 in Inkster, Michigan at Colosseum Pizza. It was a little carry-out place that I bought for $1200.00 I borrowed from my brother. Had a four-drawer Blodgett oven and a refrigerator and that’s about it. Operated on a shoestring but got decent reviews from the locals.
No, SaveFerris, we didn’t have a Frogger machine but we did have a Foosball table and a Vanguard and pinball machines while you waited. And dang, the inside of that place smelled good on a cold night! I did offer Buddy’s style deep-dish with the cheese on top and did a pretty good job with those, if I do say so myself, but overall just tried to make a decent pie with fresh ingredients and a generous amount of real cheese and sauce with my grandmother’s recipe (she was from the old country and had her own two pizzerias in Flint after moving to the U.S. in the late 1940s).
But no, you couldn’t make your own pie, although my brother tried to while I was out on a delivery once.
I do drop in on Buddy’s once in a while. Loui’s here in Hazel Park is also good for their deep dish. Definitely not a low-carb choice.
Well, good pie is good pie.
I might give it a try.
But I wish they’d really bring back Priazzo.
[So what makes it Detroit style?]
A lot of burned-out buildings on the pizza?
We had a group of kids whose “sign” was a 45. Four fingers on one hand, and five on the other. Said he would be a meaner president than Martin Van Buren. It was hard to hold anything while giving the sign, though. Kept dropping the garlic shaker!
Good stuff.
Is Hazel Park the town of the former horse track? What is ongoing there?
