IIRC, buffet invested a ton of money right after the recession in the mid 2000's...forget which year...probably 07...just enough finanical damage to the little people to get bammy into office....

Many think that Buffet made a margin call in the Mortgage market (derivatives).
Seems some banks were “shorting” their mortgages.
