I find it hard to believe all the "third party" talk around here.
Does your local GOP party support Donald Trump.
Mine does.
If yours doesn't, who are the people that don't? Take the reins away from them.
Yes, we got snookered by a lot of pretend conservatives but the masks are off (so to speak) now is the time to clean house. WE have never had this kind of opportunity to see the true character of candidates like we have now.
A political party is simply an infrastructure, like a road system.
Learn to use it.
Or .. start a new party.
That is it. OK when is the first local meeting to elect officers? Where? Who is going to reserve the meeting hall? Who is going to contact the papers for the press release about the meeting? Under what rules will the meeting be held? Who brings the coffee and doughnuts? Who gets there early to set out the chairs? Who is going to stay to clean up? Who is going to make the calls and go person to person to ensure that more than three people show up?
And if three people are all that show, guess what? They get to be the chairmen, the treasurer and the candidate committee.
OK, now we have our new party. Who do we run for Board of commission, or mayor or district rep?
Do we wait for Trump to tell us who would be a good choice. I've got news, he doesn't know. That is the job of the local party.
Now we have to go state wide, we have our party set up all over the state. Who is going to go to capitol city for the state convention?.
It will cost YOU about $1000 and 3 days of your time. Take off work Friday, drive all day, get there just in time to register.
Spend all day Saturday in break-out groups and listening to potential candidates for state committee posts.
Great, have we got our state candidates yet? Not really, because the only people that have decided to attend are the folks who know that billy bob will approve the highway that goes through their farm and make them rich. So billy bob gets the nod.
But wait this is our new party, how did this happen?
The same way it happens today.
All the conservatives stayed home. They were to busy to get involved.
Yes, they may complain about voting for billy bob, but at least he's not a "full blown commie".
Now, how is mitch mcConnell still in office?
His LOCAL constituents let him stay.
And let me say this, the GOP doesn't decide who runs on the ticket. Anyone can walk in and pay the qualifying fee and get in a primary as a republican or a demoncrat. But the party can solicit people to run.The party generally supports the winner of a primary.
I just can't believe people would really think it's better to start building a new road system then to just get on the pavement and drive.
Own the road.

Trump doesn’t want this. The GOP needs to be rebuilt to reflect conservative and traditional principles, and have the disrupter swagger to continue to drain the swamp. It needs a commitment to clean house of RINOs and maintain Trump legacy. No more Bushes, Cheneys, Romneys, Flakes, McNoNames, or Turdles.

if the GOP was not a coven of conservative-backstabbing,
MSM-preening, pedophile-defending, treasonous and seditious
overspending, uncaring, non-responsive, liars, then
your idea might be worth considering.

There is no plans for a new party.. Trump already shot that down so all those bitching will fall in line accordingly.
Best way is with a lot like you said but clearing out the rino scum needs to be done. Once that’s done and you actually gain not only local and state governments but the house and hopefully the senate, they you can “rename your party” but only once you have power back.
Doing so before that you put yourself in a forever 3rd place or worse.

The GOP just cooperated with Democrats to cheat Trump out of office.
They have previously cooperated with Democrats to defeat GOP Senate candidates that Mitch did not approve of in IN, MO, NV, DE, MS, AL.
If Donald Trump could not take over the GOP, it can’t be done.

Welcome, Newbie!
You’re not wrong, but we have lost with republicans since before Reagan. I don’t believe it’s possible to clear out the dead wood.
You ever hear the old story about the poor family sitting down down to dinner? The pastor came by and the Mother had to invite him to stay. She hardly had enough for her family.
As the soup was being served, Mom told the 7 hungry kids “Take a potato and wait”.
The hot buttered vegetables - “take a potato and wait”
The beautiful roast meat “ Take a potato and wait”
Then dessert came - “You haven’t eaten your meat, you can’t have any pudding!”
Ever hear that? That’s where Pink Floyd got their song from.
This is what the GOP and the GOPe has done to us for decades. Promises, promises, promises, bullsh!t.
I don’t believe they are reformable. We need a new party that anyone disgusted with DC can come to.

Another thing that people can do is call your local state representative and ask that he or she initiate or sign on to any legislation that assures election security. You don't have to say you are a Trump supporter, you just have to say that you do not want lax election laws in your state that will cast doubt on the election results. If you don't call and make your voice heard, then they assume you are okay with the status quo. Let's make sure they know we are not okay with mail-in ballots or "no signature verification" absentee ballots.
Instead of just complaining, let's all conservatives get active! That is what the left has done and why we have moved so far to the left as a nation.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

All right, I’ve done nothing locally, so what do I want to do?
Can I call the local GOP Party and ask about meetings?
Say I just show up- what am I looking for? WTF would I be looking to do besides getting to know people?
What could I offer to do that would require only a few hours a month of work?
Give me some nudging.

Well actually a new party would be the second party, the GOP would be a distant third.

on the local level the republican party is a Trump party....its on the fedral level in wahington that we have problems....this is just a ploy to stop the primarying of neo-conservatives rinos...they are figuring that they can take back contole of the party if trump suporters are divided and the activist portion joins the new party....unless I see some one like Devon Nunas or Ted Cruz advicating with trump to switch parties I wont go.

Sticking with the GOP would be fine, IF the party would / could kick out those fake conservatives.
Maybe it’s done sending a letter to Romney, Toomey, Mcluskey, Collins, etc, to tell them they are no longer members of the party; I don’t know, but the GOP is dead as long as they are there.

Alas, we don’t have millions of dollars to throw at these local elections like Soros has and does. His purchase of the Secretaries of state in numerous states who are both Republicans and Democrats, gave this “election” to the Communist/Democrat Party. Soros is actively buying secretaries of state and States and district attorneys. These DAs are who are refusing to charge criminals just turning them loose to continue their depredations. Lenin said that criminals are the social allies of the Communists because they keep the people begging the government for protection and keeps them unsettled and fearful and thus easier to control.

The GOPe (i.e. RINOs) will never give up control of the GOP. The only thing they care about is using the party as their slush fund, and to spread money around to their corrupt pals. They could not give two sh*ts what happens to their voters or this country, and they have proven that time and time again. There is no moving forward with that party because they are a fake political party, so they need to be bypassed. Only way to do that is to form a new party, but a new party needs someone that will draw a large number of people to that party. DJT is that person, but it sounds like he doesn't want to go this route.

It is obvious you have NOT been supporting the GOP as long as many of us have, we have had the same hope you have for 45+ years now!! We have given the GOP total control of government 3 times now only to be BETRAYED by them each and every time!! You will learn BUT the GOP is and ALWAYS has been a WEAK and FECKLESS party ALWAYS!!!
