I hate to complain, but one of the reasons for the slow start to signatures was that they highlighted downloading the petition and mailing it in. Do they realize how many people have no access to download anything due to the lockdown? It’s quite a presumption that people have printers at home, and a LOT of people are not going to go to FedEx to pay $5 to print a form. Libraries are closed, businesses are closed so no workplace printer, lots of people just have a smartphone.
They should gave highlighted all the brick & mortar business places you can stop by and sign the petition in the first place. My best friend in CA found the petition from the list at the website - on her 3rd visit to the site.
I think your observations are valid.
Momentum has picked up, obviously. There are several locations each week that the San Francisco group a staffing - as well as a list of many businesses. But these things take some time.
We had a table at walk for life - actually three tables, and some wanderers - and got I’d guess about 300 more signatures? We give packets to those willing to take them home and get more signatures etc.
It really is looking good.
