Am I missing something? I don’t see how a political message board, especially one designed primarily for those of a certain viewpoint and focused mostly on one country, could have ever come close to the popularity of a worldwide social media site like Twitter no matter what decisions were made.

Thedonald.win does that. yes it's popular. But what is popular doesn't mean it's news we need or want to read. As I honestly don't care about sports or some famous persons activities. What interest me isn't what interests the majority.

The worst part about "likes" are bots can easily change the view count. Which bots and AI bots(conversational bots) are common now

FR is great because most content is just text. If FR wanted to remain popular and lucrative it would have had to allow lots of pics and videos.

The Bandwidth would have suffered and FR would either have had to purchase or rent out a server farm which would have made it more susceptible to cancellation.

It’s not really the same. It’s great for anonymity so perfect for this current US implementation of Chinese internet but not a great platform for public figures trying to communicate with their followers.
