A lot of folks in the Southern States would disagree with that statement. Secession is nowhere mentioned in the Constitution of the United States.

The word ‘secession’ is not provided for in the Constitution, therefore unconstitutional by definition. For a state to secede, a constitutional amendment is required.

The same applies to ‘impeachment’ for non-office holders.
