This is interesting, if true. Chief Justice Roberts is supposedly balking at presiding over the senate trial.

FYI Faux Impeachment Update

“I’m hearing Chief Justice Roberts will refuse to oversee the Senate trial, as is required under the Constitution.

-No fan of Prez Trump, Roberts’ refusal will be a testament to the legality and moral ethics of this sham impeachment.

No, KH [VP Harris] cannot take his place.

The Constitution does not permit the *President of the Senate* to oversee impeachment trials.

It specifically says the CJ is in charge.

If they move forward w/o CJ, they can call it what they wish, but it is not a legal trial.

Due process rules.”

baloney
cj presides over impeachment of president or vice president...

vice president initially presides over other impeachments, not clear if the senate can change that.,.

I’m with you with what you posted after this....I think CJ is avoiding it because it’s unconstitutional and he wants no part of it.

Now, whether or not he’s worried about the unconstitutionality or the upset (almost used another word..) it would cause, I cannot say....

It just dawned on me (I’m slow on the uptake), but this might be why they’re wanting to keep the NG in DC-for protection during the impeachment trial.
