Bump.
Couldn’t have said it better. Reading this thread and the comments therein is a refreshing relief. A relief FR hasn’t been completely taken over by Reddit rejects.
And I agree with Travis’ assessment of this situation. If anything, “Q” was/is a deception campaign to make conservatives look foolish and unhinged.
Personally I believe it was/is just some kid or group of kids chuckling to themselves in their mom’s basement at how many they’ve duped over the years.
That’s the most optimistic take I can see. And anyway I’m done entertaining conspiracy theories. But it’s certainly possible what Travis wrote. So to err on the side of caution I say chuck “Q” out the window.
Not ban them because there’s enough of that from the left these days but publicly shame such nuttery. The light of truth is the best weapon against disinformation otherwise more retreats into even more shadowy realms of the Internet solve nothing. For anyone.
What is truth?
I believe in more conspiracy theories than most here, _but_ they are _older_ conspiracies that have been studied over time by a lot of serious folks with a lot of data.
New stuff always needs to be vetted very carefully—the old rule applies—extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
I’ve watched a family member lose her mind over this fairy tale.
I thought it was a phenomenon specific to her until I saw Lin Woods melt down.
Sometimes I wonder if those ridiculously long videos are hypnotizing people.
It’s so bizarre & unsettling.
If I ever smell a whiff of Qism in any candidates - I’ll consider them just as poisonous as liberals.
