It is, of course, difficult to see the future. However, I have previously posted that if Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida plus the southern Atlantic coast states would join together to form a sovereign constitutional union, they could quickly become one of the richest nations on earth. They would have an abundance of resources to exploit. Other non-contiguous states might join in. It might be easier for the failing original oligarchy to make a deal with the new sovereign entity.

Of course, some of the population could cause problems. Nothing worthwhile can be easy.

Plus, since the Democrats did the very same thing about 160 years (with, essentially, the same set of states), they should be 100% behind such an endeavor.
