That is a great saying.
I was doing Y2K IT testing for Cigna Health claims-processing. I made 2 huge errors.
I defined a file size too small. It stopped nationwide processing of claims for half a day.(file is full errors)
I also defined a record length 100 bytes too short.
It truncated (data got cut off) critical data - it contained data that connected data that kept info in sync.
We couldn’t process the back-end daily payment\process cycle(issue checks or anything)...we didn’t know what belonged where or to who.
I should have been adiosed on the spot and I handed in my resignation.
My boss returned my resignation with “The Man In The Arena” as the reason.
