Many have offered up reasons for the military buildup all over the country, including over 26,000 in DC alone. I've pondered this for days and here's all I've been able to come up with:
1. You don't need 26,000 national guard troops to guard DC.
2. The people from Jan. 6, whichever sides they were on, are not hanging around for another run at the Capitol.
3. I do not believe the theory that these troops are there to round up all of the leftist criminals and send them to Guantanamo.
4. The only logical explanation is that this a show of force by the new regime. This still seems like overkill. Note that they're now vetting these guardsmen and have rejected two of them for "far-right connections."
5. You don't spend this kind of money and show of force for a single event if you can kill several birds with one stone. I theorize that the Biden administration is going to be making several highly consequential announcements in the first week of his presidency, and these will all be highly unpopular with about 50% of the country. THIS is why the troops are necessary in DC and throughout the country. We're being told about some of these announcements, but let's see what all gets slapped down on the Oval office desk in the next 14 days. Whatever is coming down the pike, the Leftists are worried that the citizens will revolt as the tidal wave of leftist gobbledygook is rolled out.

If they go over the deep end, all enraged truckers have to do is stop making deliveries to well known Democratic cities. It would take about two weeks for the RATS to get the idea of who is really in charge.
Not to mention the previous year seeing more guns sold in the history of ever....

The silver lining is that the crime rate in DC has probably dropped a bit.

Since yesterday Soros has had the blues.
Georges Soros was arrested in Berlin in Germany, against the will of the German government, by an American commando of the US Air Force on Monday January 18 at 'zero dark thirty' GMT (0:30) and transferred to New York from the base of Ramstein.
His arrest remains secret for the moment and will not be made public by the Attorney General for ten days.
Among the 45 indictments under seal against him are his criminal activities of an electoral nature and his involvement in the American coup. Four of them were opened and notified to Soros by a military prosecutor on the plane that brought him to New York. The main indictments that have been notified to him concern his financial crimes on Wall Street and his role in the false Covid-19 crisis where he plays a central role.

The troops are in DC on orders from Trump and under the command of his loyal Secretary of Defense Chris Miller so hardly there to do lefty bidding. IMO its martial law that just hasn’t been announced yet. We will know very soon.

What is the total when you add in all police, sheriffs, FBI,etc etc etc? How many tanks, APC’s etc etc etc do we have? Yes I am armed as are many millions more of us but if the military and all of the other agencies go along with the govt. I think we are screwed. But that does not mean that I would just give up.
Next, will they be assigning political officers to each NG contingent?
I read an article on it just the other day and it was so involved I can’t remember how it works.
The bottom line is that DC is entirely different from any state or any other city because they have no governor.
Because they are a city only with a mayor with very little power other than over the cops, there is a convoluted chain of command over the guard.
I think I remember that there is a military officer who has the power to make these decisions.
Maybe someone else here read the same story and can give a description.
My point is that someone else, not Trump, has set the crazy numbers and requested machinme guns.
But where are the machine gun nests, tanks, and artillery?
