When I first started cruising, there were so many more "merry widows" than older men on the cruise, that the cruise lines hired older men to be onboard, to dance with the older unmarried women.
In the last few years I notice a change in that statistic and that the men seem to be living longer, and no older men hired by the cruise lines to dance with the older women. -Tom
