Do you think the flag should be flown at half staff on 20 January 2021 until 12 noon?
The night Obama was elected, I went outside, sobbing while taking down my flag. The next day my dad who lived next door came over and said “We patriots fly Old Glory to honor our country and it’s miraculous founding, not to honor our government. He was a Korean war vet who fought at the Chosin Reservoir and was honored to receive a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. I respected his opinion and put my flag back up but also flew the Gadsden under it. Believe me, my Dad absolutely detested Obama. And as he lay on his deathbed the day O was inaugurated the second time, we kept the election results from him.
Anyway, moral of my little story: I will fly the flag United States....and my new Gadsden
Don’t Tread On Me
Glad my Dad isn’t alive today to Ser what has happened......
Stars & Bars , from here on out
Fly at half mast signifying a death and upside signifying distress.
It should be started at noon, and never put back up to full staff.
I took mine down and replaced it with the state flag.
Same with flag-stamps on first-class mail.
ML/NJ
Actually I will be putting my flag out on Wednesday in a permanent location .
Stealing a Trophy doesn’t make you the Winner !
Should be flown upside down from the moment Biden takes office until a legitimate election is next held
I concur. Upside down. Nation in distress.
I’ll fly The Bonnie Blue until the HOA makes me take it down.
i believe i will be wearing my flag pin upside down that day - and many days after.
Solid blue with a white star in the middle. It was the original flag of the Republic of Texas.
..............................................
I have that flag and fly from time to time, but I’ve always thought it was called the Bonnie Blue Flag as it’s referred to in the song “We Are a Band of Brothers”, an 1861 marching song associated with the Confederate States of America.
My Flag Pole is out of service as is the Flag that formerly represented it.
I currently fly the American flag with the old (idiots in the state voted Nov 3rd for a new state flag) Mississippi state flag below it.
I have 4 more “old” state flags to get me through quite a few years.
Don’t know if I will fly the American flag upside down or just remove it and fly the old Mississippi flag only.
Republic of Texas flags
The Burnet Flag was adopted by the Texan Congress on December 10, 1836. ... It consisted of an azure background with a large golden star, inspired by the 1810 “Bonnie Blue Flag” of the Republic of West Florida.
Adopted: January 25, 1839.
We are a band of brothers, and native to the soil,
Fighting for our liberty with treasure, blood, and toil;
And when our rights were threatened, the cry rose near and far,
Hurrah! for the Bonnie Blue Flag, that bears a single star.
I’m posting “Americans Pumpkin Eating Day” everywhere I can.
And Up-Side-Down....
Thanks for sharing that flag history. I wasn’t aware of it.
