GOP leadership is distancing from Trump. The GOP needs new leadership.

The best proof we’ve seen that demonstrates what many of us have felt for a long time is watching Republican lawmakers and executives distance themselves from President Trump. Some of us have believed the apparent embrace of the President and his policies by leaders in the GOP was manufactured and/or feigned for political expediency only. In other words, people like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham were only pretending to defend the President because they could use him. Now that he seems to be leaving (though some of us aren’t so sure that’s actually the case), they’re scrambling back to the swamp-infested shadows of Republican establishmentism.

The Republican Party should be controlled by, you know, Republicans. President Trump’s brand of politics is populist Republicanism. It’s like standard Republicanism with an America-first mentality that disavows neoconservative principles. It also engages in principles that are not traditionally Republican such as fair trade instead of free trade and bigger budgets than we’d like. I’m not happy with the big budgets, but it seems like there are only six or seven in the House and maybe three in the Senate who actually walk the walk of fiscal conservatism, so that’s a battle for later.

Right now, we need to either get a new party going or we need to replace the tired Republican Establishment leadership in the GOP with populist Republicans.

A new party will make it more palatable for blue collar Democrats who never consider voting Republican because of family tradition.

Historians have debated for centuries whether dominant personalities bring about historical change, or events brought about by social forces create dominant personalities. IMO, there would have been a "George Washington", a "Bonaparte" etc. as social forces developed a need for one.

Trump is a product and a reaction to social forces brought about by Fabian socialism, which is now growing stronger and more aggressive with each day. The survival of the GOP is immaterial to me. I believe humans want to be free; and as the Rats continue to overplay their hand, conservative leadership will emerge.

The problem is, of course, things take time. Fasten your seat belts...

“Jim Jordan and Ron DeSantis”

Definitely keepers. Mold-makers and standard-setters for the few others worth keeping.

Don Jr. to run for pres in 2024. With Dad support.

He has all the fight and outsider experience of his dad, without the publicly-perceived negatives that comes with Dad’s style.

Together those 2 can morph what little value can be found amongst the ruins of the Republicans into a MAGA party.

“Welcome to the party, pal” could use the Bruce Willis clip as it forms up!

The GOP is dead to me. I don't see that they serve any purpose. They've been out of touch for years. And they have lied to us for years.

After President Reagan and before President Trump, every president, whatever party, has sold out America to corporate interests, oligarchs, foreign governments, big universities, defense contractors, and big tech.

President Trump is the first leader since Reagan who has put America first. Let the GOP rot, each and every one of them.

2022 is going to be a watershed for the GOP if Trump decides to remain active.

I expect POTUS is going to endorse a bunch of RINO incumbents in 2022 in preparation for a run in 2024.
