> How can someone’s insurance be cancelled? Isn’t there a contract and monthly payments?

State Farm dropped my insurance on the soon to mine rental property I’m inheriting from my parents. They left me a message to call them tomorrow. My parents were customers for 40 years.

State Farm dropped my insurance on the soon to mine rental property I’m inheriting from my parents.

Same thing happened to me with my Mother's house and she had been with State Farm for years. It's because your parents had a policy (which is a contract) with State Farm, you did not. If the insured (your parents) are no longer living the policy is null and void. You have to get a new policy, in your name, on the house. I was able to easily do that with them knowing the property was for sale.
