1. A phony unprovable and false charge of “incitement to riot”.
or
2. Massive fraud to reverse the will of the American people and change the outcome of a Presidential Election.

Once he learned of the mess at the Capitol, he asked the people there to respect the police and go home - or words to that effect. I must have missed something.

There are innumerable pieces of evidence to support the notion that Christie is a bad man.

Trump was dumb to encourage his supporters to come to a DC rally on January 6. There has never been a MAGA rally in DC that didn’t end in antifa-caused violence, with MAGA getting blamed

Nobody was happier that this rally was being planned than antifa, the Democrats and the media. It would give them all a chance to send Trump out of office in disgrace - and it would ensure that the evidence presented in Congress against the vote fraud would get drowned out and once again the American people wouldn’t see or hear it
Trump has a screw loose. The good thing about that is it means he doesn’t care about politically correct taboos - so he had no problem telling the truth about things that other Republican officials lied about for years. For instance in the 2016 debates he said out loud that George Bush was a disastrous president and invading Iraq was a disastrous stupid decision. Most Republicans knew deep down that these things were true, but there was a taboo against publicly saying so. Trump got booed at first for saying the truth out load - but when the politicians finally realized the people people were with him , they stopped booing. Some publicly admitted he was right. The others became nevertrumpers
Trumps refusal to be bound by pc taboos made his presidency great in many ways - such as by declaring a state of emergency to build the wall, when Congress (including Republicans) wouldn’t fund it
But his loose screw also means he makes some mistakes that a conventional calculating politician wouldn’t - such as holding a DC MAGA rally on electoral-counting day, which was sure to be used by the left to incite violence and damage his cause
