The dark web. Anonymity, yes; ease of use, not really. I’m not aware of a good and concise summary on the subject, but I’m sure there’s one out there somewhere.

This post needs to go viral! It is so powerful and to the point of what they are trying or did to trump! Please help me make it go viral.

The deeper issue is how did we get to the point where the maintainers of a legacy
code internet browser think their job is to be information judge, jury, and digital
bottleneck.

Most of today’s browsers are built upon Chrome.
Mozilla is little more than an online specification

Brave is my web guy’s recommendation also. I’ve used it, it seemed fine. But it’s based on Chromium which is Google so don’t get your hopes up too high.

I've been using Firefox for decades. Same here, since Firefox v0.8. Hated IE. Never took a liking to Chrome and now Edge. Had issues with Brave and Vivaldi when I tried them a couple of years ago. Like Opera, but as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, sold in 2016 to a Chinese company.
Brave is very good. Very light on resources. Has a Tor browser, which will become important very soon.
Has Brave improved much in the past couple of years? There were some issues back then that bothered me. I also didn't like I couldn't tailor the browser much to my preferences. I guess I've been a fan of the addons for Firefox, although they crippled several good ones when they changed their browser around v54.

Firefox is one of the few *not* built on top of Chrome, which is why some have a hard time moving away from it.

1. Try Brave. It really is a good, fast, secure browser.
2. Check out this video on how to migrate bookmarks and settings into Brave: t.ly/agwr
Good luck!

Chrome is prolly your best bet. It’s open source and developed by people of all stripes. And it will have the latest security patches.
Save Safari and Firefox, you won’t find a modern browser that’s not built on chrome.

Imagine that. Downloading a browser that censors web sites for you.
