Even the inevitable end will be no comfort - I would not want to stand in front of my maker and explain why I broke my oath and allowed evil to take over the last bastion of good.

Yes, sucks to be a lot of them going forward. But if one were to rank the people at fault, the Repub state legislatures would be at the top, congress below that, and courts below that. Pence’s role only came way down the line and I agree with the comments of others that it would be bad precedent for any single person to be able to stop the process. In this case, with obvious illegal irregularities, it would have been warranted, but I can see that being immediately abused going forward.
Sadly none of that matter unless the voting system is reigned in.
