I would not be surprised if this happened at this point.
I don’t understand it all but what if Pence invoked the 25th just prior to Trump’s Insurrection Act?

I expect that the 25th Amendment will be invoked shortly.

This was posted before it was disclosed that it was Pence who gave the order. McEnany’s alleged Tweet was contradicted by the Sec. of Defense. This needs to be cleared up: Why did such an order not come from POTUS?

What a disappointment and traitor Pence is.He will have to answer God for his treachery to POTUS and Americans.
I believe the Secretary of Defense ordered it after consulting with Pence, but he had his own authority to order the Guard in. By DC statute, the President is the Commander in Chief of the DC Guard, but Nixon issued an executive order in 1969 delegating control of the DC Guard to the Secretary of Defense.
There were a few with large followings posting the last two weeks that Pence was a traitor and they were ridiculed.
Now they seem prescient.
I’m sure Trump is sick of this crap and ready to go. He is human, after all. How much can one man endure. He’s not superman. I wish him well.
That’s just it: Even if Trump were at the WH Pence would still have authority to call out the NG to the Capitol if he were at the Capitol. Pelosi would have the authority if she were the highest federal official on site at the Capitol.

I suspect you are correct.
At the State Level, the Governors can call up the National Guard. At least for now D.C. isn’t a state so you would need to dig into National Guard laws, rules, regulations to see who is actually has the necessary authority to call them up.
There is another thread here that shows three of the first to enter the Capital were BLM and ANTIFA.
The guy in the Viking hat and outfit is ANTIFA Tucson.
Two others were identified as ANTIFA Philadelphia.
I missed most of his show today.
Now I’m glad I did.
