So those posts I read where ALL the restaurants were closed down in DC were FAKE reporting?

I’m not in DC; I’m in Fairfax VA.

I do know that in DC, the mayor ordered no indoor dining from 12/23 through 1/15 due to COVID. I never saw anything official that told restaurants to shut down totally in DC, but since I wasn’t staying there, I could have missed it.

As soon as I got off of the Metro in downtown DC, I passed a fairly large bakery/sandwich place that was open. I was suprised as I thought all restaurants were closed. Within 2 blocks walk, an elderly couple asked us if we knew where they could get something to eat as they were "starved." Luckily we could tell them about the bakery.

The rest of the day, I never saw another open store or restaurant and only saw 2 food trucks on the mall (were they "breaking the rules?") as we were leaving about 3:30. That mayor is really something.

Conservatives are known to leave a place as clean as we found it. I was pleased to see trash cans were full and some even had an extra black garbage bag tied to them. Most people must have used the pack-it-in, take-it-out method as there were not that many trash cans. Hopefully that continued for the rest of the day.
