I think it’s better if Pence rejects both as not being clear - then throws it to the House at that point, but I’m just trying to think of what would look best to the uninformed public.
1876 is definitely not the correct solution. He can pull a 1960 Nixon Hawaii and just reject them if he wants as I understand it.
Ahhh.... ok 1960 was slightly different in that the Governor may or may not have signed the second set of Democrat electors certficate which Nixon ended up accepting over the original Republican certificate which was definitely signed.
