I just found the two scenes of violence to be overwrought (the San Gennaro fest massacre with Sonny’s son carrying out the shooting dressed as a cop, the shooting at the meeting in Atlantic City). It reminded me of the tv show “Dynasty” more than the previous two films. Didn’t think Sofia Coppola’s performance was as bad as many say.

If only she didn’t want to learn how to drive.

Maybe the Saudis have the right idea after all.

Actually, the movie’s plot lines echo the Sicilian Mafia’s money laundering in the 1980’s.

Yeah, it was a mess, but if you read the book Octopus by Claire Sterling, you’ll see just how much the movie’s plot line mirrored real life events.

using a helicopter for a mafia hit??...yeesh..cant believe Coppola didn’t stop and think “what the hell am i doing, this isn’t Rambo or Scarface”....the first 2 films, the violence is very realistic and essential to the story...that said, here’s my top 10 “hits” from the first 2 films...

10. Sonny shot on the causeway.

9. Jack Woltz’s horse loses his head.

8. Fabrizio blown up in Buffalo years later.

7. Tessio..even without violence, great scene

6. Fredo...actually kills his brother..just wow

5. Luca Brazzi..some channels still cut this scene

4. Paulie..”leave the gun..take the canoli”..most realistic
of em all..

3. Vito kills Don Fanucci...right in the mouth, man..

2. Michael kills Sillozzo and McCluskey...

1. Carlo...dumb ass actually thought he got away with it...old pro Clemenza sitting behind him...just awesome..
