One would think that, as incredibly unhealthy as our population is, the MDs would be screaming from the rooftops that prescription pills to not stop you from shoving 10 donuts in your mouth every morning. But...much easier to write out 4 or 5 prescriptions (cholesterol, heart, type 2 etc) and let the patient continue to be fat. A friend of mine who went through bladder cancer had the a$$hole moron onco tell him “just eat a balanced diet” when my friend proposed major lifestyle changes following treatment. I also know of a nurse who got transferred out of the cancer ward as a consequence of telling a patient that sugar consumption promotes cancer (which it does).
