1) resigned.
2) He arrived as VP in Vail but departs as a citizen of no VIP status..
3) Thus the plane change nuumbers. 2 fighter jets accompany the plane.
4) Pence didn’t like the direction of the election was taking and didn’t want the pressure of making determinations on the Electors.

PS: Durham flew back at same time as Trump to DC. Durham must have flown to FL to report personally something to POTUS??

Why would he have a fighter jet escort if he were no longer an office-holder??
If true, because it is not commonly known yet and they still have a responsibility to protect him, or, he remains in that position until a VP Replacement takes his place.
(If Pence resigned pretty sure replacement would need the Senate to approve.)
Standard procedure? Terminated? The First Arrest? A threat to his safety. Where did he land? I missed seeing a landing statement possibly?
