How much did Army arty shoot in VN?

don't know. I was stationed @ 29 Palms and on field mess duty and fell asleep near a 155 . They had a night fire mission and my ears were whacked ever since.
At the time, Stumps was a Marine artillery base and a place where week-end warriors did their 2 weeks active reserve duty.
I ended up going to VN as a grunt.

I was delivering chow to the arty @ Palms, 200 yds at least behind the battery. They did a battery fire and it hurt my ears while I was sitting there turning. There is no ear protection effective against that.
