CLAIM: There were 205,000 more votes than voters in the 2020 election in Pennsylvania.
AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. This analysis is based on incomplete data, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State.
THE FACTS: A misleading claim about election results from a group of Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania is circulating widely on social media a week before Congress meets to reaffirm Joe Biden’s decisive presidential win.
The claim emerged in a release from the Republican state Rep. Frank Ryan and several others on Monday.
“A comparison of official county election results to the total number of voters who voted on Nov. 3, 2020, as recorded by the Department of State shows that 6,962,607 total ballots were reported as being cast, while DoS/SURE system records indicate that only 6,760,230 total voters actually voted,” the release said.
The claim then spread to several right-wing websites and social media influencers, including Trump, whose tweet claiming Pennsylvania had 205,000 more votes than voters was retweeted 117,000 times.
However, these claims rely on incomplete data, according to Wanda Murren, communications director for the Pennsylvania Department of State, who called the lawmakers’ release “obvious misinformation.”

However, the apparent reference to SURE (Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors) in Pennsylvania points to state data on the voting history of registered voters, which some large counties have not finished uploading yet
Democrats are falsifying voter records to match their fraudulent “vote” totals. They know exactly how many people voted from in-person voters being checked off in real-time as they went through the polls and mail-in voters being recorded in the database as their ballots were received (after illegally opening the inner envelope to locate Trump votes to tear up and pretend weren’t received). There’s no legitimate reason for them to not have had this finalized weeks ago, shortly after counting finished, with numbers that matched the number of votes counted.

The ‘incomplete’ excuse is transparent: if the 205,000 voters were added to the final SURE, the number of voters in the suspect precincts would exceed registered voters, so they just never send in a number to cover the ballot fraud. And remember, an illicit ballot contains NO licit votes.
Agreed.
According to the AP as of today (12/29/2020) 99% of votes have been counted and a total of 6,917,583 votes were cast for President. That is according to the AP’s own numbers.
Not sure how they can verify numbers when their own numbers are wrong according to the article.
If you tell a big enough lie often enough.......
Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. Those of us who DO study history seem doomed to stand helplessly by watching it all go down. *sigh*
So AP didn't conduct their own statistical analysis to verify this, and instead took the word of Pennsylvania's Secretary of State? Sounds queer to me.
Social media users in recent weeks have also made similar claims that there were more votes counted than registered voters in battleground states and key cities.
Those claims are easily debunked. In Pennsylvania, for example, there were nearly 7 million votes cast. The total number of registered voters in 2020 was just over 9 million.
I don't recall anyone saying there were more votes than registered voters in an entire state. So then they give as their example some statewide numbers. The AP is lying.
AssPress says “Nuh uh”
The AP is confusing registered voters with those who are actually on record as having voted. The issue is the total votes cast exceeds the number of voters on record as having officially voted.
If its AP, its a lie.

Pennsylvania Population 2020
12,820,900
Excellent find!
At least 20% are under 18 years of age meaning over 100% of the population eligible is registered to vote!
I’ll repost what I posted on Facebook:
AP fact check gets it all wrong. They never claimed more votes than voters. The claim was more votes than voters who the state system recorded as having voted. Even the fact check shows a nearly impossible level of voter participation. Really tired of the egregious deflections and coverups in main stream reporting. And facebook is at the center of it. Facebook is a truly evil platform.
Yes! But they aren’t confused, they want to confuse everyone else. Propaganda.
Value for Pennsylvania (Percent): 20.7%
Data item: Persons under 18 years, percent
I’m aware that Trump misspoke on Twitter and misreprented this issue. He was mistaken, and corrected himself. Now the AP is making the same error. From the AP’s description, the AP is doing it on purpose.
The isuue here is not that Pennsylvania had more votes than registered voters, as the AP describes it. The issue is that Pennsylvania had more completed ballots than voters who voted.
The AP constructed and burned down a straw man. Their defense is meaningless.
‘..to reaffirm Joe Biden’s decisive presidential win.’
They can keep lying to us until the cows come home, doesn’t make it true
