Regarding shining examples on the left of their “cultural appropriation”... Senator Pocahontas ... Hiliaria .... Alec’s and Ireland’s defense of Hilaria ... reminds me of the Turkish proverb:
“The explanation is worse than the blunder.”
Messican culture has always included the caste systems built on skin lightness and version of Spanish spoken. While the trend among ‘mestizos’ is still ‘hate the white man’, the trend among the upwardly mobile messican youth nowadays is a pilgrimage to the mother country of Spain to ‘connect’. So, in California, saying you’re from Spain, and utilizing European Spanish as opposed to the more gutteral messican, projects your status as a sort of blue-blood. Above the mixed-race ‘mestizo’ and decidedly above retintos (hard laborers) or amulatados (house servants) (both Afro-mexicans). Hillary is a poser pandering to the Mexican caste system while using American ‘minority’ status to gain the edge on employment and ‘cred’. A double loser. Triple, if you take in consideration who she’s married to.
