Christmas is celebrated in many ways in many corners of the globe, and the cuisine that marks the holiday is as diverse as the people feasting on it. Even when we can't travel to be together, food traditions are comforting at a time when many of us are separated from our families and have had a challenging year in the wake of Covid-19. And Christmas dishes are particularly special in many households. The typical Christmas meal may be different by destination, but the idea of indulging in a feast, be it on the day itself or the night before, isn't. Here's a look at how locals celebrate Christmas through cuisine in seven countries. We asked hospitality experts about these traditions, and they shared their perspective on what's typical for them as well as their families and friends.

The feast I wanted to see was the leftist news media people, the Socialists, Antifa, BLM and Dems all eating crow.

Last hope is the court rulings. I’ll chip in on the paper plates and plastic forks for the meal.

Thanks for posting (even though it IS CNN). That’s a great article and all the foods from around the world look so good!

My son’s girlfriend’s mother just gave us a homemade Peruvian Yule Log (bûche de Noël) last night. We are saving it for after our feast today.

This idea made for a great episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. The newsroom folks were all angry with each other and got shanghaied into eating Sue Ann's "Christmas around the World" meal.
