The only way you can do web searches with at least a bit of anonymity is to use the “TOR Browser Bundle” to do the searches...and try not to leave any clues (difficult).

WasnâÂÂt there an article here on FR a couple weeks ago pointing out that DuckDuckGo is actually using Google, and that youâÂÂre being tracked just as much, and you see you less, because of the filtering?

It is the cookie files you have to delete. You search on say cameras and soon you have ads for cameras everywhere you go.

It is not the only way you are tracked. You talk on the cell phone and you will see ads show up on your computer web browser and if you have Windows 10 then the ads microsoft display show up in the start menu. All based on what is overheard.
If you have a smart tv with a camera and microphone you will see ads show up about what you are talking about on your tv. Those devices from Amazon with Alexa tied in do definitely listen in. The police will ask amazon for the recordings! when investigating any crime and probably the gov’t has a direct pipeline into all the spy devices.
