I’m not the greatest fan of Biblical numerology though I don’t discount it all entirely. The Hebrew passages with their numerical equivalents strike a deep cord with me! I recognize the significance of 1776 with the corrolation you are making with the Apollo 8 astronauts and with the formation year of our nation. Might or might not be a coincidence but it is a shot in the arm that I’m needing right now as I consider the sorry state our nation. I did have an inner tingle as I read your post. There probably is a God breathed element to the Apollo 8 story! I remember the astronauts reading the passage too, at age 7.

You are alert to perceive the multi-level associations that are simply *there* from other directions entirely (versus someone crafting religious interpretations).

These two numbers also match on the year dates, because the Gregorian year 1776 was the Hebrew year 5536. 5536 naturally divides such that it adds up to 541.
Explanation:
When the Hebrew letters serve as numerals, they only go up to a value of 400. At that point composites are used; e.g. 700 is written as a tav and a shin (400 + 300).
Once the thousands are reached, the single digits serve for that purpose. Thus the 5000 is written with the letter hei, which normally is a value of 5.
Sorry if this is getting bogged down, but the point is that the year 5536 is written like this:
ה'תקל"ו
The hei is separate, (as the 5 is used as a 5000) followed by the regular value composite sum of 536. Hence 5 + 536 (as naturally divided) = 5 + 536 = 541
July of 1776 was in the Hebrew year of 5536. And 1776 ft. is 541 m. Distance measurements.
