I have read about the Christmas crossing an the battle in Trenton, but Idid not know that Washington had released those Hessians. Interesting. Such a fascinating period in history.

God was with Washington, just as He is with our dear President Trump, the second greatest American president in history.

All the way up to around the early civil war captured troops would be paroled on their promise to remain out of the conflict after that period. Whether or not they followed through was often up in the air, but not having to care for large numbers of captured soldiers was often worth the trade off...
