My granny made me slips, underwear, and dresses out of flour sacks. And oatmeal/cream of wheat type food came with various things that were useful like cups or thimbles or whatever. Jelly jars made great juice glasses. Grandpa carved wooden spools from thread into wooden tops for toys.

Juice glasses! ARF! We still have my great grandmothers SNUFF glasses for juice jars at our houses. She could have been the double of the granny on the porch at the river crossing in Outlaw Josey Wales.

She was a master at cooking on a wood/coal fired kitchen stove. I eventually want to get one of those. Flour sack clothes! Wonderful 🤠
