SB, congrats on the job!! Re: your system vs the company's system....first, read any contract/employees’ handbook. Then, ignore all that and keep both systems entirely separate from each other.

While a search warrant will guarantee the boys in blue will take anything electronic (yep, even your kindle), a quick perusal by an IT person will show that you were scrupulous about keeping your home life separate from your work life.

LOL, and I don't even know what industry you're in...but I spent some time in the legal industry which should show you my POV.

What blu said! No spillover from one to the otherand protect your work, backup nightly on a dedicated hard drive.

(But IT person that you are you knew this already!)

I bought a KVM switch today so I can switch back and forth from the work laptop to my personal desktop. I won’t do Anything personal on that laptop. My manager was wrong, there’s no monitors just the laptop and I’m actually glad about that.
