Right, but its a freak-out to gain consciousness with no prior knowledge of the medical emergency besides the tube i had all kind of Ivs, and what not attached to me

I guess they sedated me, the next time I opened my eyes I could breath normally, they pulled the tube. It was very weird - normally I would have just woke up in bed, that wasnt the first time I had a surgery that required anesthesia.

Still not certain exactly what set it off. I have a card and med bracelet describing the stuff they used, I dont leave home without those.

For sure it's freaky. They always give entubated patients a sedative so they don't fight the tube-which is the normal reaction. Did you have a central line?
