Looks like part of San Quentin.
Of course. The corporate places are going to do fine. Plus they’ve probably already kicked into Gavin’s personal slush fund.
Glad I visited when I lived in SF in 1979. Beautiful location and the food was great. So sad to see.
The movie “Big” with Tom Hanks filmed a scene there of the mechanical fortune teller. They had a basement museum of antique arcade items.
Had many great meals there during the 70’s & 80s...
I lived in the Sunset District in the late 70’s to early 80’s. We went to the Cliff House many times and were never disappointed in the food or service. Many great memories and times. I must be getting old, this makes me very sad.
Will this restaurant reopen as a Taco Bell?
No but, someone will purchase it and Al’s 100 yards away and reopen them in a few years.
Those restaurants are in really hot locations.
Yep
Been going since about the time I was born...1963
Laughing Sal was at Playland Boardwalk.
When it closed they moved Laughing Sal to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
#10 which of their friends will buy the property at a BIG discount?
Closed
Yeah, well, I did put the “/s” thingy at the end of the title when I said “Awesome! /s”
Sorry, I missed that! Feeling hostile today...
We ate there a few times in the early ‘80s. Good memories. Too bad these places are being destroyed by RATs.
It was a great place to take out of towners for dinner. Well presented food and not crazy expensive. Beautiful sunsets.
Just one more reason why mrs. F and I are leaving this craphole.
The Cliff House was on my running route when I lived there in the late 80’s.
Beautiful area.
Such a stinking shame the liberals have turned SF into such a mess.
Been there
