If a state sends two slates of electors, the president of the Senate (VP Pence) may decide which slate to accept. This is one way in which Trump can be re-elected on January 6th. All it would take is for Pence to select the Trump electors in contested states where he believes vote fraud took place. But as I understand it, Pence doesn't even really need a reason. If he has two slates presented from a given slate, he can arbitrarily choose to accept one slate over the other.
Of course, this would be quite a ballsy move on Pence's part and it would send shock waves through the nation. But apparently Pence would be on solid Constitutional ground. And speaking of ballsy, that would not be half as ballsy as the Dems blatant cheating this election cycle.
And if the Dems decide to appeal to SCOTUS, well SCOTUS already made quite plain last week that they have no interest in intervening in state elections.
So in a way, whether unintended or not, the SCOTUS decision on Friday that demoralized so many of us could well be the key to a Trump re-election on Jan 6.
Fascinating times we live in.
What a call that'd be!
That's all VP need even say/explain, if he does this.....that he IS RIGHTING THE WRONG....the proven, blatant FRAUD committed by these states, and their leadership.
Then....turn, and walk away.
And if the Dems decide to appeal to SCOTUS, well SCOTUS already made quite plain last week that they have no interest in intervening in state elections.
Roger that!!
