I think it is clear, that Trump is in a similar situation as Caesar in that the DemonRATS have made clear that his and his family’s lives, fortune, and all that is dear will be taken away.

Furthermore, even if they tried to make some deal, POTUS has no reason to trust them to keep their word. In addition, POTUS has sworn an oath to protect the Republic and the Constitution. He is legally obligated to do so. And so he like Caesar must cross the Rubicon, but at least with the legal standing to do so which Caesar had not.

He is so brilliant, he may have something else up his sleeve, but I’m not smart enough to figure it out.

The Constitution guarantees each state a Republican Form of Government. IIRC, fraud is one determinate that shows a failure to provide same. Furthermore, Supremes have steadfastly for the most part stayed out of these type of arguments, indicating that it is up to Congress and the President to make such political judgements.

Reconstruction which basically gutted the Governments of the South to “re-establish” a Republican form of Government was upheld. At present—All is yet TBD.

Good point. There are some misconceptions. I saw again in some column today a statement that Texas has some “option to concede” in the agreement to join the union. That is FALSE. Texas DID HAVE such an agreement but once defeated in the CWI gave up such an option under the terms by which she was allowed to REJOIN the Union. So Texas suffered under the carpetbaggers just like the rest of the South.
