Talked to family this morning.
My brother was driving truck so he didn’t feel or hear anything. My sister heard it: thought it was the furnace or a big truck passing by....a slow rumble that built up over several seconds. Brother went and drove by that gavel pit and looked around....didn’t see anything out of the normal. There were no dead Chinese, bomb craters or ground opened up.
As for the 50K Chinese troops? Nope...but my brother said:
“Bring em. We’ll kill all those slant-eyed cach suckahs!”..spoken in his best strong “down east” Maine accent. (Told ya they were as bad as those coonies over there in Baton Rouge...LOL). They could use some target practice and excitement...it’s boring there, and a rather sultry 30 degrees this morning.
I 1st saw Frampton when he was the lead guitarist for Humble Pie, in 1971 Academy of Music NYC (I don't need on Doctor).Became a fan of his work then.
Peter Frampton revolutionized the rules to how to do concerts in indoor arenas. Up till then the stage would be on one end, there would be a wall of speakers and black curtains sealing off the back of stage seats.
He hung the PA speakers up in the Lighting Trusses and put low height speakers on the stage for the floor seating. When his live album came out Christmas of 1976 is was great and became a 1977 Tour.
I was at Madison Square Garden in March of 1977 for one of the shows. We sat 2nd deck Stage Left and the seats and sound were great(These seats would have been behind the black curtains and the wall of speakers before). He effectively turn MSG into a coffee house. It was so intimate, we didn't feel like we were one of 25,000 people.

What an experience for you! I was captivated by the idea that he was such a good guitar player that he could make his guitar sound like it was speaking. I truly thought he was manipulating the chords to sound like a human voice. Then I found out about the talk box and I felt cheated a bit. My own fault really but it put me off and my fandom waned. Young girls are fickle :)
He’s bald now so the long wavy hair and bare-chested stage presentation have long passed. I can go back now and listen to his music with a true appreciation of his considerable guitar skills.

With three U.S. carrier strike groups sitting off the east coast and who knows what else lurking beneath the water, they’ll never make it to a rugged, rocky, unforgiving coastline where the tide can shift as much as 70’ in 12 hours. There’s only a few ports they could ever land at..IF they made that far. Not even Mills is that stupid.

Yep. They’d blend in a whole lot better there than they would in a sparsely populated area that is pretty much all white, tightly knit and has a certain voice accent/dialect that is only unique to that area.
What did kinda bother me though, was the article I saw where the Canadian govt was training these jerks for cold weather warfare. IF they had 50K of em “in training” say in New Brunswick and they decided to pull off some kind of blitzkrieg attack, they’d have to come across thru Houlton, ME rather than Calais. Reason is that Houlton has interstate 95 ending right there, and it’s all good, wide, level road all the way straight thru Maine and then some. There wouldn’t be much in the line of a military ground response to stop em for quite awhile, other than maybe a massive civilian response. Airpower would have to rule.
To get from the border crossing at Calais to anywhere else in the country is about 100 miles of hilly/curvy 2-lane road (Rte 9) before getting to an interstate highway outside of Bangor/Brewer. Rte.1 is even worse. It would slow military vehicles down way too much for a blitzkrieg attack.
Man, those yankee, eastern-side Mainers would go totally nuts: it would like hunting season with no bag limit.

Well, First of all, I have already stated more than once that I considered the report unlikely.
However, If you must continue berating the post, I’ll just point out that the thread didn’t say they came in now. It implied that they may have come in over a period of time after Obama closed the waters and perhaps didn’t guard it properly.
Again, I can think of dozens of reasons why that’s not true, but at least I don’t state reasons that the guy who wrote it already ruled out. But why continue beating a dead horse?
