Raleigh, NC- Gov. Roy Cooper issued a new stay-at-home order on Tuesday to limit the spread of coronavirus, ordering most businesses to close at 10 p.m. each night, starting Friday.
"We have to act now to save lives, preserve hospital capacity and protect our economy," Cooper said during an afternoon news conference.
The order will require all restaurants, bars, personal care businesses and most retailers to be closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Alcohol sales for on-site consumption will have to end at 9 p.m.
The stay-at-home order "means just what it says – people are to stay home during those hours," the governor said.

China Virus is nocturnal?
Where’s “The Science” on Time-of-Day transmission rates?
Protect the economy? You are killing it off you jack ass.
A science denier!
This is settled along the same lines as closing small businesses in favor of large retailers. Cramming more people in one place at the same time is much better than spreading everyone out at different times...Common Core Science it’s all the rage better get on board!
Yes. And it can’t find its way around plexiglass. And it doesn’t go into grocery stores. Science, you know
Well, the next step will be martial law, if state after state continues with these restrictions.
We’ve been under various restrictions in much of the country for nine months now. Yet we are told the virus is spreading rapidly now, in spite of months of restrictions meant to blunt the spread of the virus. Is it possible that the virus is spreading in spite of what Dr. Fauci and everyone has told us to do? Meaning that Dr. Fauci and everyone really don’t know what to do to stop the spread?
This is martial law since the governor has become dictator and makes up punishable laws.
This is also a transfer of wealth to large online retailers while killing off the small businesses.
Seems the people of NC need to go into full revolt.
I’ve been told they are without ammo. Haven’t gotten confirmation, though.
Well it did come from bats.
The latest narrative is that we have to protect hospital capacity... Since absolutely no beds or capacity can possibly be added to the healthcare system, we have absolutely no choice but to shut everything down so that we dont fill that very last bed, else we will ALL SUDDENLY DIE!!
So you see, we really have no choice but to shut everything down. Because we are too stupid to increase our hospital capacity. It is a sad and inescapable truth. So sorry. Please dont forget your face tampon.
I remember the hospital ships and the tents set up and went unused...think that was springtime.
Hospitals are always at or over capacity during flu season, which apparently Covid killed...
No outside visitors unless they have tested negative for Covid, and have "quarantined" for a certain amount of days. My daughter and her husband and step-son were expected after Christmas. I haven't seen them for over a year. I just got off the phone with her to tell her that it would be better for them not to travel here for a Christmas visit. Nothing will be open, nothing really to do. This guy wants everyone wearing a mask, even when outdoors. Fresh air and sunlight -- nope, not allowed. And, I believe some researchers at the beginning of this nightmare, found that the virus dies in about 15 secs of being exposed to sunlight. But, no, we don't need THAT science; just the science that allows our politicians to become petty tyrants. Sorry, but I am so bummed about this.
Yeah, I swear that DiBlasio and Cuomo refused to use those ships because Trump sent them. Just think, how many elderly people would still be alive if Cuomo had used those hospital ships for the elderly patients instead of sending Covid infected patients back to those nursing homes.
