Just for whatever it’s worth, I remember when Barr was first appointed, Dave Janda reported that, according to his sources, the appointment of Barr was a sort of truce between Trump and the Bush clan. The deal agreed to was that the Bushes and their clique would cooperate with Trump and in exchange, Trump would appoint Barr with the promise that Barr would not pursuit indictments against the Bushes. He would pursuit the rest of the deep state but wouldn’t prosecute the Bushes as long as they stood down from opposing Trump. Being that the Bushes have ties with Barr and trusted him, they agreed to the deal.

Like I said, take it for what it’s worth. Janda seems to have some pretty reliable sources. That doesn’t mean everything he says should automatically be believed. But if true, perhaps Trump knew all along that Barr, with his ties to the Bushes, would eventually double cross him, but he went along with it to buy some time while he prepared for the real showdown - the 2020 election.

Now that makes some sense to me. There are a few things over the years involving Barr that worry me. It would be just like the Bushes to push someone in order to benefit themselves. Poppy Bush was not Reagan’s first choice for VP. He was a compromise.

One of the problems with that dumb scenario: Shrub has opposed Trump.
