IMO, his daughter has been threatened. They killed the boyfriend as a warning. That caused the GOP governor to change his tune.
The daughter could have easily had been with the boyfriend. Maybe she was supposed to be, but plans got changed at the last minute.

Was the Georgia governor ever with Trump? The uniparty, the swamp, is completely against Trump. I think it’s time for a new party. Many of the 70 million Americans who voted for Trump would rather be in a MAGA party then the phony conservative Republican Party. I know I would rather be in a MAGA party.
