Also, hamburger/beef/chicken is readily available now. And often on sale!

I’ve thought about getting the crumbles to have handy, because I don’t necessarily want strips of bacon, but just add a bit to a salad, baked potato, etc. and don’t want to go to the trouble of fixing bacon just for that. But I’ve read reviews that some of the crumbles aren’t very good so I hesitate.
