I can't recall who it was that made the comment something to the effect, the court case would only come with a decision of picking electors, but there is already electors.

That puzzled me also. What I didn't understand was what I just read in the link I posted up above. Quote; "In these four states, it was an entity outside of the legislature that chose the electors. Not only is that very concerning, but the possible discrepancies in these states’ elections also merits a closer look by the court." If I recall most of these states have REPUBLICAN Legislatures so they will be MORE APT to pick legislatures who are more favorable.
