Lysie.. enjoyed your recipe. esp the orange sauce. the upside fruit cake is pretty common. I have experimented a bit over the years .. have done fruit combos. Including a combo of pineapple, pear, peach, pecan and marsciano cherry. The best cake is the pineapple box mix in my opinion. Im lazy .. not a strong dessert person and scratch cakes are like .. no. no.. noway
Freepersup.. you and I have a soul connection with travel. I avoid highways because I LOVE back roads. I did OKC to Cleveland all back roads including my fav. HWY 66.. maybe a dozen times. Love the stops with the little coffee shops. Stop for coffee and pie and chat with the guys on front porch playing checkers. Go to cemetery and learn about who was there. walk around the little community business communities or town squares and take pix and suck in the local flavor.
so my 5 hours at infusion permitted me to catch up on several FR threads, FB, words for friends and weather around the country(check out my family & friends)
I have not given up by a long shot on DJT. He’s a fighter and he expects us to be also, right?

have enjoyed following your real estate adventures. Im a former (2nd career) real estate professional and still have a love of unique homes and “interesting” industrial real estate(where I made my money). Old homes on a bit of land are my forte.. big homes and big land the best. I owned an amazing home in Mt Airy NC(Andy griffith). on 2 acres. zone C. 10000 sq feet. 3 stories. 100 years plus old. all lower windows french stained glass. 12 fireplaces in home all with imported wood/granite. Original plumbing and heat (yup, rough) tons of fun rooms. Little/no closets. Dated baths(5) and kitchen. HUGE 3 sided huge porch with multiple entries to home. Secret rooms, a lot of wowsie features. a sad time to own it with my divorce and upheaval of life just months away
oh forgot to mention the most unique (to me) part of this home. the externior was 1’ square granite. then a one foot empty space and interior a one foot granite wall. very well insulated and cool in summer and cozy in winter with the fireplaces doing the work to complement the coal fired radiator heat throughtout the home

Sounds gorgeous! I’ve been to My. Airy a couple of times, nice town. I would love to tour a house like that. 12 fireplaces! Built back when they depended on them, I i marine. The architectural features they put in the older homes are amazing, so impressive and beautiful. Secretvrooms? Maybe part of the underground railroad? If Biden gets in, those rooms could be necessary again.
