Sarah Fuller became the first woman to ever play in a Power Five college football game on Saturday when she kicked off for Vanderbilt in their showdown against Missouri.
Because the Tigers came into the game 3-3 and Vandy 0-7, the historic element of the kickoff was pretty much the only thing folks tuned in for.

Fuller plays for Vanderbilt women’s soccer team. She was offered the opportunity to play due to Vanderbilt’s kickers being in quarantine because of COVID-19.
“She’s got a strong leg. We’ll see what that yields,” head coach Derek Mason told ESPN. “We’ll figure out what that looks like on Saturday.”

Fuller, for her part, was very excited before the game.
“I think it’s amazing and incredible,” she said. “But I’m also trying to separate that because I know this is a job I need to do and I want to help the team out and I want to do the best that I can. Placing that historical aspect aside just helps me focus in on what I need to do. I don’t want to let them down in any way.”

Actually, I'd prefer the opposite. Make every college team have two women on the field at ALL TIMES. Some nasty 260-lb mama could make a heck of a guard.
The strategy would be outstanding. How do you best hide the two women on the field so they don't affect the play? Watch Alabama and Ohio State fight for the best female prospects. It would really shake up the sport, not to mention all the pregnancies and harassment claims.
