Please read my comment again.

“They generally don’t know who has the goods. “(emphasis added)

Years ago there was an anti-auto theft product on the market called The Club. People scoffed at the design flaws and that car thieves could simply cut through the steering wheel and evade The Club. But those Smartest Guys in the Room missed that The Club was a deterrent, and that simple car thieves would move to a car without a barrier to theft.

Yes, there is basically no way to stop a determined car their from taking your Camry. But I don't need to leave the windows open and the keys in the ignition. There is a big difference.

Similarly, of course, anyone with access to that data and who can perform general sort and merge commands via unique ID can do what you suggest. Anyone with a gun understands that there is zero hope of complete anonymity.

But...that isn't generally "your neighbors" or your average loser in a riot. If you think Mary or Joe Blow down the street has a dossier of all your transactions, I have some tin foil.

More direct and to the point, anyone blabbing to friends and family their personal arsenal inventory is a rube. Indeed, there is a good reason why I'm writing to "CodeToad."

The club and firearms have nothing to do with each other. Dumb analogy.

Again, if you want to be a childish coward and try to giggle and claim you have no guns then go stand in the corner while the adults stand firm.
