Sorry. Not the reason for the name. I was a pinbal sortof wiz as a kid. Lived in arcades. Rang up games and sold hem for 5cents apiece. I was a dime to play then. Happy Thanksgiving. Fav game was Flying Carpet.
“Fav game was Flying Carpet.”
Gottlieb EMs are great. I played Flying Carpet at a show in Ohio quite a few times. It was restored to like new condition. Great game.
I grew up in the 80s, so I got to play a LOT of outstanding games as they were released :-). I own several (more than several actually :-) ). It’s a fun habit. I got hooked on collecting/fixing/restoring them in college when they were being blown out by operators in the 90s. I wish I was as good at the stock market as I was with picking games that I had to own ... they’ve appreciated in value substantially :-).
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!! :-)
Played many an old Gottlieb back in the mid 70’s. To me, one of the best forms of exercise out there. Always kept me on my toes, bobbing and weaving, waiting for just the right instant to work the flippers. Good times !
